X-Men Origins: Wolverine escapes online

wolverine1In what must be annoying for the director and producers, an early raw cut of the upcoming X-Men prequel, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has been leaked on the Internet. The movie is not out until May 1, but the high quality full-length work print of 20th Century Fox’s big budget fantasy has spread quickly to multiple file sharing sites.

Wolverine focuses on the early days of Hugh Jackman's superhero character Wolverine, his confrontations with his brother, his conditioning as a military weapon, and experiences in different wars throughout history (the trailer made me think of Christopher Lambert’s flashbacks in the first Highlander movie). According to Yahoo News, Fox said the FBI and MPAA are investigating the theft. Apparently the studio has insisted that the version posted online "was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music."

This is an unfortunate leak that could damage Wolverine’s box office appeal, especially if fans don’t resist temptation and end up spoiling the movie for themselves by watching an unpolished early draft.

Everyone should wait, May 1 is not far away and movies are always better on the big screen.
