Spider-Man 4: vampire villain combines supernatural with superhero

Spider-Man 4 According to Empire Magazine, the upcoming Spider-Man 4, again directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire, will likely feature a vampire like villain called Morbius.

In the original Spider-Man Marvel comics, Dr. Michael Morbius was a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist who suffered from a rare blood disease. Experimenting with vampire bats and electroshock therapy, he ends up with super strength, the power of flight, and a thirst for human blood. The vampire like Morbius would take over from the Sandman and Venom villains that appeared in the last Spider-Man movie.

“I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius,” said Director Sam Raimi. “He’s really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural."

Spider-Man 4 starts filming in 2010 and is expected to hit theatres in 2011.
