Star Trek prequel teaser trailer and official website released Hot

New Star Trek prequel poster A teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Trek prequel directed by J. J. Abrams has been released. You can watch the teaser trailer on YouTube here. The trailer shows construction work being undertaken on what will presumably be the first Starship Enterprise and features a voice over by Leonard Nimoy, the actor who played Mr Spock in the original Star Trek TV series.

Old and new Doctor SpockLeonard Nimoy makes a guest appearance. The younger version of Spock in the new prequel will be played by Zachary Quinto (one of the stars of Heroes). The old and new Spock can be seen here shaking hands at a recent press conference.

Although the Star Trek prequel has a release date 25 December 2008, it has apparently been delayed by the recent writer's strike in Hollywood. Let's hope they didn't start filming without a polished script.

The teaser trailer is currently playing before another J. J. Abram's production, Cloverfield, which is screening in theatres now.

You can also visit Paramount's official Star Trek prequel site here. There's not much there at the moment though, except an animated logo.

I think that teaser trailer shows less of anything than in the history of teaser trailers! Lots of black and not much else.
