Greatness

I was so excited to hear about this. I'm a huge Highlander fan, but the way the movies and the series ended.... It left with no closure, and never maximised it's full potential. I do think the whole thing should be redone and maybe even a little retooled. Granted the first movie was great, and it would seem that Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod would be irreplaceable. But for people like me who felt as if they were left hanging in many places. The story should be remade, the franchise should be remade, and all the blanks should be filled. For me , someone who wants to see Highlander go on and the franchise remade, you have to start from the beginning.

P.S. Perhaps an actual Scotsman to play MacLeod this time. - Jackson

I love the first movie and really enjoyed the TV Series (I think they did a great job, especially with the episodes filmed in Europe).

I'm open to a remake if they make it a little more gritty and dark and ensure that the fight sequences are strong and realistic. I could do without a Sean Connery who is allegedly Egyptian but has a Scottish accent, though. - Mark

This could work !!

I loved the original! My friends and I have seen it over 100 times both in the theatre (original release, and repertory), and on video.

Removing the second and third installments from my memory, the fourth one with Adrian Paul and Christopher lambert, was great, and more of a proper sequel to the original.

I haven't seen the last one with Adrian Paul, but heard it sucked.

I'm cautiously excited about this new franchise. If they do it right, and find the perfect cast, it could work. Look how the new 'Batman' franchise
has worked out.

I'm willing to give it a chance. Better than watching it die, with not even a whimper. You have to admit there was a lot of crap peformances and effects in the first one (by the supporting cast).

I'd like to hear Sarah Brightman's version of 'Who wants to live forever'
in the soundtrack.

Fingers crossed !

D.

no no no no no re-make !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The original should not be re-made it was good enough the first time round, they would be better off remake any of the original 4 sequels (the quickening/the sorcerer/end game/the source) as they don't really follow on properly and also the TV series although good enough to be part of the highlander franchise would do better from a remake. they could re-make the second HL film as that's the one that totally wrecked the storyline and the following films had trouble following the slghtly screwed up storyline. LEAVE THE ORIGINAL ALONE NO REMAKE HOWEVER GOOD WILL JUST FURTHER SCREW UP THE FRANCHISE, JUST MAKE A SIXTH FILM GIVE IT A BIG BUDGET AND TRY AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT HAVE GONE ON UNANSWERED FOR SO LONG AND FILL IN THE BLANKS CREATED BY THE LAST TWO FILMS SO THAT ALL 5 HL FILMS TIE UP AND MAKE SENSE.NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO REMAKE IT WOULD BE WRONG !!!!!!!!

If the ball is already rolling for this movie please make it original as possible, stick to the story and a small suggestion:- the guy that played the punisher and also plays in the movie THE MYST has the same facial looks as connor macleod he could definately play the role for a remake.
i hate the fact that there is a remake but at least you could mae it something good. GOD HELP US ALL

I live and breathe Highlander at the moment making my own fan made highlander movies, but this news of the first Highlander movie is somehow interesting but disturbing. People please Highlander 1 should be left alone because it gave birth to the whole Immortals seeking the prize and christopher lambert and sean connery gave the audience something we will always remember throughout history, the bond between them created the HIGHLANDER movie and it was great BUT THEN THE MADE 2 the quickening, OUCH, it just didnt give any answers and went pair shaped then 3 came out and it kind of made more sense. 3 should of been 2. You need to sit back, think hard because the next 2 movies after THE SOURCE has got to shed light on Immortals, where they came from, why are they here, and what is THE PRIZE cos since the first movie we still dont really know and its got to be epic if you want the HIGHLANDER followers to appreciate it and wal out the cinemas with relief and smiles and wow. Highlander remake would be interesting but curiosity killed the cat SO DONT KILL THE HIGHLANDER MYTH. thankyou. - Mark

Highlander Re-make

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Please do not re-make the original Highlander movie! Re-make a movie that needs re-making because it was a good idea but terrible movie. Stop making re-makes of good films! This is just as bad as re-making Psycho, Halloween, Escape From New York, Planet of The Apes...see a pattern here? Or at least hire someone who knows the movies and can contribute something that the originals needed! Hollywood please listen for once! - Director Hugo V.
